Not too long ago, Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur were sitting on the couch along with Mahesh Bhatt. That’s how a sequel to the 1991 hit, Sadak, was announced. Yes, Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt who were a part of the original film will be seen in the sequel along with Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in a brand new Sadak, helmed by Mahesh Bhatt.
The film will go on floor soon and none other than Alia Bhatt confirmed this during her media interactions promoting her upcoming film, Kalank which also stars Sanjay Dutt. She said that she will start work on Sadak 2 in May 2019.
Interestingly, this will be the first time the two Bhatt sisters, Pooja and Alia will share the screen space in a film. What’s more, according to reports, the actress will also be lending her voice to the soundtrack of Sadak 2. She was earlier heard in Udta Punjab (Ikk Kudi) and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (Samjhawan) as well.
The cast and crew will wrap up a major schedule of the film in May itself. The film is slated for a March 25 release in 2020.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt are busy with the promotions of their next release, Kalank, which is directed by Abhishek Varman. The epic period drama, set in 1945, is slated for an April 17 release. After which, it’s Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra opposite Ranbir Kapoor for Alia on December 20, this year. And then there are Karan Johar's magnum opus Takht, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Inshallah, SS Rajamouli's RRR and Sadak 2 for the young girl.
Alia Bhatt to start shooting for 'Sadak 2' from May 2019
Reports of Bhatt sisters collaborating for the first time for the remake of a celebrated Bollywood flick 'Sadak' are making rounds in the media for a while now. Interestingly, With ‘Sadak 2’ Mahesh Bhatt is making his directorial comeback.
