Sanjay Dutt said in an recent interview that they will be starting Munna Bhai 3 soon. So, with a director like Raj Kumar Hirani who does one movie in 2-3 years and with the Sanjay Dutt biopic yet to be finished/released, I don't expect SRK to star in a Hirani movie at least till 2020 unless Hirani drops Munna Bhai 3 for now.
BollywoodHungama is a reliable source so there might be a chance. Plus I don't think SRK has time for fighting people at this age. He has shown calmness when it comes to dealing with people in recent times. VVC and RCE can jointly produce the movie.
Vikram Vedha remake + Raju Hirani film. Bring it on!
Come on it's not true. He said this a few days ago at that Ittefaq conference:
"Karan and I always share a lot of ideas till we come on to a specific one. We have reached a stage and age where when we do a film together as a director-actor, it should be different as we have been blamed for making similar films about family. I think we all have had guts now and experience to try something nicer, wilder, cooler and different from what we have done before,"
He also said a few days ago that he wants to do whatever he wants even if it sinks him because if he doesn't do new things, who will? I saw an interview where he defended JHMS as well -
“Maybe I am too old for a love story; maybe they expect something more worthwhile. Maybe in India, we don’t have too many mature love stories. It wasn’t an immature love story. People expect you to do a certain kind of cinema. But, I don’t think actors should succumb to that. They should just do what they feel like."
Also this - “We have decided to produce almost nine-10 films in the next two years. I won’t be acting in all the films, we are always willing to do new things regardless of its outcome. Today, our films are doing the business, tomorrow I might lose everything but that thought will never stop me from attempting.”
I consider all this fluff — that my career is ending and I’m going to be finished. That’s what you think but without being pompous, I can say that I’m at a position where I can decide to take on things which come with a huge chance of failure. But if we don’t do it, things won’t progress.”
Also mentioned Asoka -
“I had loved doing Asoka. Given a chance, I want to make Asoka again. But this time, it will be much bigger and grander. Maybe with some great VFX work which has so far not been seen in Hindi cinema.” He further explains, “We made Asoka in a budget of Rs 8 crores. We didn’t know much about VFX because special effects were still not a rage then. Today, imagine how much more we can do with a bigger budget and better VFX. I’m fascinated by such powerful war stories and someday, I would definitely like to revisit Asoka again.”
Btw, at the Ittefaq press conference, Karan mentioned that SRK thinks he has no sense of screenplay or stories when it comes to commercial movies. SRK thinks he is in a completely different headspace coming from doing English theater and has other interests and likes, which is something I've long suspected. Karan said he disagrees with SRK and thinks he's totally commercial. I guess he was trying to reassure SRK? I don't know.
Anyway, this is what Karan said regarding SRK-
"SRK undermines his ability to be intuitive when it comes to anything mainstream. He is in denial, but he is actually a full-on commercial film buff. He likes to say he is not because he comes from an alternate headspace, as that's how he entered the movies. But, there is no one more masala and commercial than SRK."
I think SRK himself is right here. I don't think he is by nature commercial at all and doesn't understand those kinds of movies. He was lucky enough to work with people like Adi and Karan who understood those types of movies. I think that's the biggest problem he is - he just doesn't have the same taste as the general audience so when he tries to make those masala movies, it's hard for him trying to figure out what people want. He can't use his own intuition because he doesn't like that kind of stuff to begin with.
How refreshing to read someone who actually r e a d s what ShahRukh says and gets what he means.
Tina, I agree with you about his mindset when it comes to scripts. I wonder which kind of movies RedChillies will produce (which haven't ShahRukh in the lead). "Always Kabhi Kabhi" was an adaptation of a theatre play the young director had written and staged years ago. "Ittefaq" also is a remake/adaptation of a kind of 'stage play'(the film from 1969 only plays in a house - living area at the floor, bedroom 1st floor and staircase).
I am very happy about ShahRukh trying different things. And it would not bother me when he works with his friends from time to time. Future will tell

IMDB lists two films as being announced for 2019 - an unnamed Kabir Khan film, and Operation Khukri, about Indian UN peacekeeping soldiers in Sierra Leone directed by. Ashutosh Gawariker. That sounds interesting.
I saw that, too (no idea how reliable imdb is). Kabir Khan's film seems to be a short film and the other one, ShahRukh already spoke about. Not having signed anything doesn't mean it isn't something concretely planned.
I do hope he keeps trying new things. Fine, throw a commercial film in there now and then, but he's at the point where he can experiment, and it seems that'll make him happiest.
At this point, I'm hoping Sateesh gets what he wants and YRF goes ahead and does Dhoom 4 with SRK. Get the big hit and get the monkey off his back for a while that his movies aren't making money. It's the safest movie SRK can do at this point because I don't think Farah or Karan have that kind of touch either right now.
Then he can another couple of movies that he truly wants to make.
Vidya Balan would love to star in 'Ijaazat' remake with Shah Rukh Khan
One of the most versatile actresses of Bollywood, Vidya Balan has not been seen in a full-fledged role opposite any of the three Khans all through her film career. However, the star has admitted that a future collaboration might be on the cards if the right kind of film comes along. she considers Shah Rukh Khan as her favourite among them.
On picking Shah Rukh Khan as her favourite Bollywood Khan, Vidya was asked about what kind of project could bring them together on-screen. According to reports, the actress said that the characters need to be "perfectly suited" for them to come together. Taking the film 'Ijaazat' as a reference, she said she would love to do a mature love story which features the two in a relationship. She also said it would be fantastic if 'Ijaazat' can be made in a contemporary setting.
On the work front, the actress was last seen in 'Tumhari Sulu', for which she garnered a lot of appreciation from all quarters for her performance.
Maverick filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who is currently busy shooting his upcoming Sanjay Dutt biopic which has Ranbir Kapoor playing the titular role, has been rumoured to have locked down on a film with Bollywood's Badshah Shah Rukh Khan. Rajkumar, who has made some blockbuster films like 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S', '3 Idiots' and 'PK' may finally be collaborating with Shah Rukh after 14 years. It had been reported that Rajkummar's films 'Munna Bhai' and '3 Idiots' were first offered to SRK, but he declined the offers citing various reasons. Now if there is any truth in the rumours that have been doing the rounds, then it looks like to the two will soon be working together. Shah Rukh is currently shooting for Aanand L Rai's untitled next in which he will not only be seen essaying the role of a dwarf but will also reportedly have a double role. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles.
Shah Rukh Khan To Star Opposite Priyanka Chopra In Salute?
Last week, reports of Aamir Khan starring opposite Priyanka Chopra in the Rakesh Sharma biopic, titled Salute, was doing the rounds and had got us excited till fresh reports of him walking out of the biopic made headlines. And now as if to uplift our moods, there are emerging reports that Shah Rukh Khan has been approached to play the role of the first Indian astronaut to go to space in the biopic. Well, we’re certain that this piece of information will not only uplift your dampened moods but will also make your day as it will in all probability feature your favourite on screen couple Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra on screen after a long time. Priyanka is to play the role of Rakesh Sharma‘s wife in the film.
After Hrs got in touch with an insider who told them that a big name had been finalised for the film and although names like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were being considered, trade analysts are of the opinion that it is more likely to be Shah Rukh for the role of the Indian astronaut. To imagine SRK and Priyanka share screen space has brightened up our day! Well, let’s hope that the stars do pay heed to their fans’ sentiments and go ahead with the project. They were to star in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 but the latest buzz doing the rounds is that Shah Rukh got Priyanka replaced in the film by Deepika, as together, they have churned out multiple hits like Om Shanti Om and Chennai Express.
Well, while the two stars may once again try to back out of the project given their rumoured history, it would be interesting to see who finally seals the deal with the makers to play the lead, should either of them decline to go on board. Going back to why Aamir backed out of the project, reports indicate that there were some points of disagreement between him and the creative team.
All those articles...they are worth nothing at all...nothing... until the moment the respective people have signed...and even then one can doubt...until the shooting has started...and even then it isn't sure until the shooting has finished
I have stopped to believe, to even consider as possible, anything Indian media announce this way
Shah Rukh Khan To Star In Rakesh Sharma’s Biopic Instead Of Aamir; Reveals AskSRK Session
Not everyone knows about the concept of TED Talks so Shah Rukh Khan, who is the host of the show, took to Twitter to answer queries about his new show.
By Koimoi.com Team -December 11, 2017
The famous TED Talks is finally being conducted here in India and the responsibility of introducing this new concept to our lives has been taken up by none other than ’King Khan’. This is for the first time that TED has collaborated with a network to churn out the series in Hindi. Not everyone knows about the concept of TED Talks so Shah Rukh Khan, who is the host of the show, took to Twitter to answer queries about his new show TED Talks India Nayi Soch and what can we expect of it in the coming weeks in a session called #AskSRK.
There have been a lot of buzz about the upcoming Rakesh Sharma’s biopic and who will be the star of the film. There were reports that Aamir Khan will be seen playing the Astronaut in the film. But there have been reports stating that the biopic tentatively titled Salute, will not see Aamir but Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Shah Rukh cleared the air when a fan asked him on Twitter “Hi have you signed #dhoom4? #Asksrk” he replied, “I haven’t signed any new film…yet except @aanandlrai film.”
As per a report by Deccan Chronicle, a source confirmed, “Aamir is not someone who will do a film if he’s not 100 percent convinced of it.” The report also has another quote on Aamir’s exit. “When Siddharth Roy Kapur launched his own production house, one project that he had announced, was based on the life of astronaut Rakesh Sharma and the shooting was to go on the floors only after ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ was complete. It was a 2018 release.”
“Aamir was approached to play Rakesh Sharma, in a conversation started with Siddharth way back in 2016, but the star is not doing the film anymore. They were developing the script but Aamir did not like the way it finally shaped up. Everybody knows that his script sense is brilliant so in that form, so if he does not like a script there has to be something wrong with it. He discussed this with the creative team and conveyed his decision to them. Siddharth understood Aamir’s reasons as he knows that’s how the Aamir works.”
Will Shah Rukh Khan Be A Part Of Rohit Shetty’s Angoor Remake?
Rumours were rife that Rohit and Shah Rukh will reunite again for the remake of the famous movie Angoor which got their fans excited.
By Koimoi.com Team -December 11, 2017
The partnership of Rohit Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan has given us a blockbuster hit like Chennai Express. Fans were in wait to see their partnership weave the magic again on silver screen. Rumours were rife that Rohit and Shah Rukh will reunite again for the remake of the famous movie Angoor which got their fans excited.
But Rohit Shetty rubbished these rumours and called them baseless. In an interview to Pinkvillla when asked about a comedy movie that he would like to remake, he named Angoor. He said, “I already have the rights of Angoor. I don’t know when will I get to make it. “When he was further enquired about SRK’s involvement in it, he added, “If you give SRK (a film like) Angoor, he will make it into a watermelon! It’s a very sweet story. But when we try to make a simple film bigger, its essence and sweetness diminish and it goes into another zone. I can go to a hill station, and make a film like Angoor in two months and come back. But I’m still wondering if I want to make a film on that scale or not.”
Angoor the rib-tickling 1982 original by Gulzar stayed with generations, especially for its unparalleled performances by Sanjeev Kumar, who played a detective and Deven Verma, who pretended to be a bhaang lover. Both characters have their twin counterparts and all hell breaks loose when they finally encounter each other.
Its obviously a film with tremendous VFX potential, which means automatic interest from SRK's side. I think it may be a really good film for him to do. Depiction of Indian heroism and social issues on screen is really big these days, so it may well work in favor of Shahrukh. Aamir rejected Swades too, didn't he? So yeah, who cares. Shahrukh has made a career out of doing other actors' rejections, so what is one more really.
Salute writer Anjum Rajabali has rubbished reports of Aamir Khan walking out of the Rakesh Sharma biopic owing to creative differences.
“Yes, Aamir Khan has opted out of the project. However, it is not true that he didn’t like the script, nor did he have any creative dfiferences,” Rajabali told Cinestaan.com. Salute is a biopic on India's first astronaut.
The DNA newspaper had reported that Khan had opted out of the biopic, tentatively titled Salute, as he had differences with the creative team. A Deccan Chronicle newspaper report hinted that Khan did not like the final draft of the script.
The buzz now is that the filmmakers have approached Shah Rukh Khan to play the lead role.
Writer Rajabali refused to confirm or deny that Shah Rukh Khan had been approached.
