SRK's FANdom has Reached New Heights And This Video Proves It February 1, 2016 Roktim Rajpal
Shah Rukh Khan is arguably one of the most popular and successful stars of contemporary Bollywood. The 50-year-old enjoys tremendous fan following courtesy his good looks, dashing personality and of course unmatchable finesse as a performer. Perhaps that is why his fans go into frenzy everytime he is seen in public. This is exactly what happened when SRK arrived in Gujarat recently to shoot for his much-hyped Raees. Seeing the actor in person, those present at the airport proclaimed their love for him by clapping and hooting. Interestingly, his son AbRam too was travelling with him so those in attendance had another reason to rejoice. Now that’s what we call a double bonanza! On the professional side of things, SRK was last seen opposite Kajol in the action-comedy Dilwale. This year, he will be seen in Raees and Fan. As it so happens, Fan features him in a double role. As far as Raees is concerned, it is touted as a thriller and features him in the role of a cruel bootlegger.

Last year we had predicted a few likely entrants into the highly exclusive Rs. 100 crore club, this year we do the same but with a difference. While last year's predictions were based on the results of the Most Awaited Movies poll, this year we at Bollywood Hungama quite literally are sticking our necks out vouching for these films, which in all likelihood will be big money spinners at the box office.
So quite literally putting our reputation on the line, here are the films that we expect will be making it big at the box office in 2016. However, this year we have further categorized the film into segments based on their estimated box office collections.
1. Raees: Though the film featured in our list last year as well, Raees which is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment featuring Shah Rukh Khan will see the light of day this year. However the film might face competition with rumours of Raees clashing with the Salman Khan starrer Sultan releasing on the same day. If this rumours holds true though it won't spell disaster for either of the films, it will certainly dent both the films overall box office collections.
Another factor that might affect the overall box office collections of Raees is the fact that the film features a Pakistani actress, Mahira Khan, in the lead role opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Though this may not seem like an issue with the prevalent though process of certain elements, the makers of Raees may fact problems with Mahira promoting the film on Indian soil.
But all said and done, at the end of the day considering Shah Rukh Khan's immense marketing prowess and of course his second to none fan following Raees might just turn out to be this year's highest grossing film.
Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' in trouble as VHP opposes shoot in Gujarat TNN | Feb 3, 2016, 01.07 PM IST
Vishwa Hindu Parishad has raised an objection against Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film, 'Raees.' According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan was slated to shoot for a 15-day schedule of the film in Kutch and Ahmedabad. However, the VHP isn't happy with the developments.
The members of the VHP burnt posters of SRK's films and have demanded the District Collector to cancel the permit for the shoot of the film 'Raees' in Gujarat. They have also threatened that if their demands are not paid heed to, they will disrupt the shoot of the film when it happens. While Shah Rukh Khan had admitted that the box-office performance of 'Dilwale' was hit thanks to his comments on intolerance, it seems like the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has still not forgiven him for the same even after an apology was issued by the actor.
In the past, the international working president of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Pravin Togadia, had come down squarely on both Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan for claiming that there was an atmosphere of intolerance and insecurity in India. He had said, "Both these actors do not have any love for their motherland otherwise they would not have made such unpatriotic remarks."
Directed by Rahul Dholakia, the crime-drama, 'Raees' is set in the 1980s Gujarat. It is slated to release on Eid this year.
VHP activists held for obstructing Shah Rukh Khan film shoot
IANS | Feb 6, 2016, 10.30 AM IST
The Gujarat Police on Friday detained 34 activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Kutch district for trying to obstruct shooting of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's film 'Raees'.
Ritesh Sidhwani: 'Raees' shooting not disrupted
Police said the VHP activists were detained under Section 68 of the Gujarat Police Act. The VHP has been targeting Shahrukh Khan for his comments on "intolerance" in the country.
After they were released, the VHP activists still managed to block the Gadhsheesha-Dedia road which connects Kutch district headquarters Bhuj with Polaria where the film shooting was scheduled for the day.
The shooting continued peacefully throughout the day in Polaria, which is located some 60 km from Bhuj city. The actor, who has been on a week-long visit to Kutch for the shooting of the film, has faced sporadic protests by the VHP activists since he arrived there.
Earlier, the outfit had held a demonstration in front of the District Collector's office in Bhuj. A motorcycle rally was also held demanding the cancellation of the film's shooting and ban on Shah Rukh Khan's entry in Kutch.
Based on the life of Ahmedabad-based underworld don late Abdul Latif Shaikh, 'Raees' has been made by Rahul Dholakia who earlier made controversial film 'Perzania' based on communal riots. Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is the female lead in the film.
Next shooting schedule in Ahmedabad from Feb 11 at Dariapur (Daripur is famous for housing some of the important tourist destinations in Ahmedabad. Among them are Qutab Shah Mosque and Rani Sipri's Mosque) and Sarkhej (Sarkhej is a suburban neighbourhood in the city of Ahmedabad. It is primarily known for the Sarkhej Roza is an architectural complex located 8 km south from the city centre.)
Q. What about Raees and Sultan clash, both are big films and definitely every one would love to watch both films. So will the clash be averted?
A. So far, there hasn’t been any news from both sides regarding the clash. There is a long way for the shoot of Sultan to be wrapped up. But we’ve now been hearing in the last few days from trade sources, that both YRF and Excel/Red Chillies want to work out a solution and possibly avert the clash.
if anybody can read gujarati, please trasalate this. SRK is back to Mumbai as ASI have not yey given permission for shoot to happen at this historical site. He will be back once they have the permissions
ASI stops Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' shoot in Ahmedabad
Kiran Kaur | TNN | Feb 13, 2016, 05.21 PM IST
Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film, 'Raees,' refuses to be kept out of the news. After making headlines for it mega box-office clash with Salman Khan's 'Sultan' this Eid, the film is now surrounded with permit troubles. According to local news channels, SRK was scheduled to shoot for the film in Ahmedabad at the ancient mosque and tomb complex, Sarkhej Roza today. Following the protest SRK faced in Kutch, about 400 policemen were deployed at the shoot venue to ensure complete protection of the star. However, the schedule did not go as planned as the unit failed to collect all the required permissions.
While approval was taken from the local authorities, Sarkhej Roza being a historic monument, permission from ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) was also necessary, which the unit did not take resulting in the shoot getting cancelled. Reportedly, the makers are now seeking the necessary permissions and the shoot will resume from tomorrow. The local police have contacted the person in charge to get details of the schedule so that they can arrange for proper security.
Pakistani actress, Mahira Khan, who will be seen playing the lead opposite SRK, is also likely to join SRK in Ahmedabad to shoot for some songs, though there is no confirmation of the same yet.
Indeed! And they should feel a sense of shame about their doings, but they do not . This must hurt Shahrukhji very much. I can't help but think that this is approved of and encouraged by high ranking local authorities.

Exclusive: Blame Ritesh Sidhwani for Raees and Sultan's Eid clash
DECCAN CHRONICLE. Published Feb 22, 2016, 3:50 pm ISTUpdated Feb 22, 2016, 4:04 pm IST One particular phone call between Ritesh Sidhwani and Aditya Chopra led to the entire mess.
As soon as the reports about 'Raees' and 'Sultan' clash broke out, it left everyone in shock. Mumbai: Often it is the actor who faces the wrath of any controversy around a film whereas producers, who are not known faces, sit back and enjoy the show. Being the face of the film, actors have to go around defending or talking about clashes or any controversy around the film. Which was the case of this year’s big EID clash Raees and Sultan.
While promoting his last release Dilwale, Shah Rukh Khan had to clarify on the big clash with Salman Khan many times. Ditto for Salman who also had his share of versions about the unfortunate clash. But hold on… Who really got the two actors in this mess? Producer Ritesh Sidhwani from Excel Entertainment.
Yes, so here’s what happened. Rumours that have been doing the rounds in the industry reveal that Ritesh was aware about Sultan's release date but he still decided to bring Raees out on the same day. A source told us, "Last year, when reports had started doing the rounds of Salman Khan in Yash Raj Film’s next, producer Ritesh Sidhwani made a call to YRF head honcho Aditya Chopra. Yash Raj Films hadn’t made an official announcement yet due to Salman’s ongoing case.”
So what happened during the phone call? The source added, "Ritesh Sidhwani started sniffing around asking Aditya about the developments on Sultan. He also asked Adi when he intends to release it. Anyone who knows Aditya Chopra is aware that he is the most straightforward guy in the industry. He doesn’t mince words and is always to the point. He heard Ritesh out and told him he wants to release the film on EID 2016 but is waiting for the verdict on Salman’s case. That marked the end of the phone."
Few days later Ritesh took to his social media page and announced that Raees is coming on Eid. When this news reached Aditya Chopra he was shocked. He felt cheated that a friend sneaked in only to extract some information.
Anyways, when it was clear that Salman wasn’t going to jail and he got a clean chit in his case, YRF went ahead and announced Sultan’s release date as planned. The clash of both the films shocked everyone in the industry.
Ritesh claimed to everyone around him that he was the first one to announce his release date so he hasn’t done anything wrong. However it has now come to surface that drill of clarifications SRK and Salman had to give about the EID clash, Ritesh is rumoured to be the root cause of it.
These are all rumors, How does this person knows what these 2 made a conversation over phone? Is their phone tapped? Raees is first of all co-produced by RCE and knowing SRK very well, these are marketing gimmicks.
