Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's train scene to be recreated in Dilwale?
By Bollywood Hungama News Network, Jul 1, 2015 - 08:21 hrs IST
Last year, Yash Raj Films made headlines after Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge completed 1000 weeks in a Mumbai theatre. Now we hear that Rohit Shetty whose next film Dilwale will feature the lead pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, will also have a scene that pays homage to DDLJ.
In fact, reports suggest that the train sequence in DDLJ that featured Shah Rukh Khan chasing a train to climb aboard and reaching out to give Kajol a hand, will be recreated in Dilwale. Apparently, the said sequence in the currently underproduction venture will feature SRK running after a tram which crosses Lion's Bridge in Bulgaria and then giving a hand to Kajol.
However, while the makers of the film do not deny shooting a train sequence for the film, they state that it was not shot as homage to DDLJ. Commenting on the same Rohit Shetty says, "Yes, we have shot a sequence in the train but it is not a recreation of the DDLJ train sequence."
While this sequence recreation takes paying homage to the next level, Dilwale that is directed by Rohit Shetty also stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Rohit Shetty Productions, the film that went on floor on March 20 in Mumbai is looking for a Christmas release this year.
5 confessions Shah Rukh Khan made about his chemistry with Kajol in Dilwale!
Thu, July 2, 2015 12:00pm IST by Pooja Nayak
Raj-Simran, Rahul-Anjali…agree it, none of us can EVER get enough of these two…
It definitely wouldn’t be wrong to declare Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol as the King and Queen of romance. Their chemistry is something which cannot be recreated by any other couple in the industry. Not even Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, who tried doing it in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. So now that SRK and Kajol are back together with Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, we have been wondering what is that one thing which still keeps their romance so afresh? Especially after looking at the evergreen picture from the sets of Dilwale. How does everything look SO perfect the minute Raj and Simran stand next to each other? Well, SRK has an answer to this…
In a recent interaction with a leading daily, the superstar elated on his much-in-love chemistry with Kajol. Here are 5 confessions he quoted:
#Kajol is a lot like me; she only takes up something when she is really happy doing it, which is a fantastic space to be in.
# While shooting for Rohit’s film, we (Kajol and I) were chatting about how we have no idea how all our films have worked. We didn’t know Raj and Simran, Rahul and Anjali, Rizwan and Mandira would go on to become that big. We just do our jobs naturally.
# When we are on the set, we never have a conversation about how important we are as an on-screen couple and that we have to recreate our magic.
# When I put that first picture out(of Kajol and him on Twitter), we were nervous. You don’t want to let down the legacy. But everyone was so excited when they saw the picture which made me happy.
# I want to thank everyone including the media who have talked about us in such a nice way. Anyway, there’s nothing bad to talk about me and Kajol. But to talk with so much love is very encouraging. Now we’ll try our best to make our film look nice.
Well, this again has only peaked our interest around Dilwale a lot further, how about you?
We recently saw pictures of Shah Rukh Khan dressed as a gangsta while shooting for Rohit Shetty's 'Dilwale'. However as per our source, there is a twist in the tale.
Apparently, Kajol's dad, played by Kabir Bedi, is a gangster in the movie. Kajol takes forward his legacy and becomes a gangster herself. Amidst all the "gangster action", ..yes you guessed it.., Kajol falls in love with none other than Shah Rukh Khan. That is the gist of the movie so far. This is the first time Kajol will be seen assaying the role of a gangster on-screen.
Does sound quite interesting isn't it? Coming to think of it, even Deepika's dad was a 'don' in Rohit-SRK movie 'Chennai Express'. However, it seems that the similarities of the two movies stop right there. Well, it does sound pretty exciting, doesn't it?
The team was recently spotted shooting in Bulgaria. SRK and Kajol are now back and are all set to resume shoot on July 10th. The movie is set to release on December 18.
Shah Rukh Khan And AjayDevgn Meet Up for Dinner: Bulgaria
Finally they met for a dinner in Bulgaria, which of course is not preplanned. They both came across each other on Rohit shetty’s set and gave a warm greeting to each other.
Later they moved to have dinner. However, everyone knows that the nature of friendships and enmities in Bollywood is fickle. So, when you chance on a photograph that has Ajay and SRK dining together, then it is fodder for thought. One hears that the two actually had a discussion on a film. Perhaps, Rohit can get these two to bury the cold war.
Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan team up for Dilwale The actor is reportedly set to appear in Rohit Shetty’s next
More on: Filmfare, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Dilwale, Rohit Shetty, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon
It looks like this is the final nail in the coffin of rumours about the animosity between Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. The two actors, reportedly nothing more than cordial with one another, are set to appear on screen together for the first time. And that too in the star-studded December release, Dilwale, which also stars Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.
And it’s no wonder then that Shah Rukh and Ajay were clicked having conversation over dinner in Bulgaria. Ajay, who was apparently there to scout for locations for his upcoming mythological drama Shivaay, has been roped in for a special appearance. Of what we’ve heard, Ajay reportedly walks into a scene for a short cameo. Having previously worked with Rohit Shetty on a number of money-spinning hits, we bet this too will be nothing short of spectacular. Guess we have yet another reason to look forward to Rohit Shetty’s next, which hits screens December 18th.
Shah Rukh Khan to turn distributor with 'Dilwale'? By Gaurav Dubey |Posted 25-Jul-2015
Shah Rukh Khan’s production house steps into the distribution realm with 'Dilwale'
More than a decade after its launch as a production company, Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment (RCE) has branched out into the distribution market with Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale featuring the star himself opposite Kajol.
A source says, “Red Chillies is now planning to expand its business and convert itself into one of the biggest studios in the country. Apart from co-producing Dilwale, it has also taken up the responsibility of distribution in India as well as abroad. As of now, the film has been sold to exhibitors in major trade centres like Delhi-Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Nizam, Rajasthan and Central Province at the highest rates ever. The business expected is nearly R280 crore.”
Gaurav Verma, chief revenue officer, RCE, confirms the development and says, “We want to upgrade Red Chillies into a film studio. So, the basic function is not only to make a film, but also exploit the other avenues. We will be working with partners across all platforms, but it will largely be controlled by us. Our films are mostly marketed and distributed based on merit and we understand the expectation the film carries not just from us but the audience as well. And we know how to cater to that expectation.”
Red Chillies’ distribution will not be limited to home productions, adds Verma.
What are their plans to maximise business as Dilwale is all set to clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Bajirao Mastani this December? "We will work equally hard irrespective of which film releases with us. Our commitment level doesn't go up or down. What others are doing is their prerogative."
On being asked about the audience being divided, he said, "We will get to know whether the audience is divided on the Friday in December. It is too early to talk about it. The film is set to release 6 months later."
Your meeting Shah Rukh Khan in Bulgaria went viral. For the record, did you discuss doing a film with him?
No. We were staying at the same hotel and it was very sweet of him to have come and met me. We had a drink together. My whole team of 30 was there and so was his team and they all know each other so we all sat and chatted. We talked about his film and my film in Bulgaria but have not discussed any film together so far.
Rumours around Ajay's cameo in the film began doing the rounds when the 46-year-old was photographed having dinner with #SRK and his wife earlier this month in Bulgaria, where the film's shooting is in production.
Talking to IANS about it here, Ajay said: "That's not true. Its just a rumour. No I'm not doing a cameo in "Dilwale". It was a coincidence that when I was there, at the same time they were shooting in Bulgaria. I went there for the location of 'Shivaay' and then saw Shah Rukh and the team there.”
Ajay was in the capital on Tuesday for the promotions of “Drishyam”, his forthcoming thriller drama, which is releasing on Friday.
Ajay and Rohit have together made hit films like the “Golmaal” and “Singham” series, “All The Best: Fun Begins” and “Bol Bachchan”.
Asked about his return to a Rohit Shetty film, Ajay said: “It all depends on the script. If the script would be right, I would love to work with anybody. Right now I have 'Drishyam' and after this 'Shivaay' and 'Badshaho'.”
Directed by Nishikant Kamat, “Drishyam”, which is an official remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, also stars Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor. The film will release on Friday.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Turns Distributor With ‘Dilwale’ August 5, 2015 | 09:36PM PT Naman Ramachandran
LONDON — Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment (RCE) will expand into film distribution with “Dilwale.” Khan toplines the action-comedy-musical, while co-stars include Kajol and Varun Dhawan.
“Dilwale” recently completed principal photography in Bulgaria and is due for release on December 18. The film is a Red Chillies co-production with director Rohit Shetty’s Rohit Shetty Productions. Shetty and Khan teamed for 2013 hit “Chennai Express” that collected $62 million worldwide.
Red Chillies will distribute the film in India. While the company is yet to decide on the number of screens, chief revenue officer Gaurav Verma told Variety, “our aim is to make it the widest release for any Indian film so far.” Red Chillies will also work closely with overseas distributors, Verma said.
Moving into distribution is a logical next step for RCE. Besides film production, Red Chillies has interests in television and commercials production, a VFX house, an equipment leasing division and a 50% stake in Indian Premiere League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. It also has an overseas office in New York.
“We understand that monetization is an equally important aspect of film business and so far we have always worked with partners on the monetization and distribution side. But with RCE expanding on the production side, controlling monetization and distribution was a natural extension of this process. We wanted to participate in the process of taking these films to consumers – so here we are,” Verma said.
Next up for Red Chillies is “Raees,” a co-production with Excel Entertainment that stars Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Red Chillies will distribute the film in India during the Eid holiday frame in July 2016.
Red Chillies has also signed a five-year television distribution deal with Shemaroo Entertainment for 12 Khan blockbusters including “Main Hoon Naa”, “Om Shanti Om” and “Chalte Chalte.”
Khan, who was strangely absent from the recent Forbes list of most wealthy actors, though according to Wealth-X is the world’s second richest performer after Jerry Seinfeld, also stars in Yash Raj Films’ “Fan” which will release on April 15, 2016.
Another Triumph For RCE by Box Office India (August 8, 2015)
We are all aware that Red Chillies Entertainment recently cracked a fantastic music deal that became the talk of the trade. Now the studio has gone one step further and cracked a first-of-its-kind and biggest-ever distribution deal, which covers almost every territory in the country.
The production house, which is working towards becoming a corporate house sooner not later, has decided to release its next mega venture Dilwale on their own in India. And if the talk in the trade is to be believed, the movie has been sold for a whopping price in every territory as it is the most sought-after film of this year.
Here’s the list of lucky distributors who have got the distribution rights of the film: Delhi-UP: Prateek Entertainments Pvt Ltd; Bengal: Aum Moviez; Rajasthan: Kinesis Films Pvt Ltd; CP Berar: Heera Laxmi Amusements Pvt Ltd; East Punjab: Prateek Entertainments Pvt Ltd; Bihar-Jharkhand: Aum Moviez; Mysore: Bahar Enterprises; North Karnataka: Raikar Ventures; Assam: Azaan Films; and Orissa: Aum Movies. Ask the man behind this deal, Chief Revenue Officer of Red Chillies Entertainment, Gaurav Verma to comment, and he replies with a smile, “RCE is known for high quality entertaining content. So far, we have partnered with various studios for monetisation. Going forward, as the slate is expanding, we want to build monetisation capability in-house as it is an equally important part of this business and identifying the right theatrical partners is the first big step in this direction.” www.boxofficeindia.co.in/another-triumph-for-rce/
He demanded that singers should be paid better (rightly so) after that many producers have totally stopped working with him, which is a shame.. Sonu is still 3 class better that 99% of the current singers.
SRK and Kajol to leave for Iceland to shoot romantic number
We know that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are shooting for their Rohit Shetty movie 'Dilwale'. The duo shot for the film in the beautiful city of Sofia, Bulgaria. They are now back, but raring to go. News has it that the team is all set to move to Iceland to shoot for a romantic number.
Shah Rukh and Kajol are known for their on-screen chemistry. They were last seen in the the Karan Johar movie 'My Name is Khan', five years back . This re-union is therefore special and much awaited!
Dilwale also stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. Varun and Kriti have mentioned many a time that they are honored to be working with SRK and Kajol.
As for the romantic number, we can't wait to watch it already. What are your thoughts on this?
Sanyukta Iyer TWEETS @sanyukta_Iyer After 'Suraj hua madham' in Egypt, SRKKajol will shoot a one-take song in Iceland Once you leave the capital city of Reykjavik, most settlements in Iceland are tiny villages sur rounded by sea stacks. Now, picture Shah Rukh Khan in his signature pose, with his arms stretched out, humming a melodious track, Kajol racing towards him.
For Rohit Shetty's upcoming drama, Dilwale, the actors are flying off to the Nordic nation for a special, single take song sequence. “The song will be a one-take number across the black sand, white surf and incredible seascape. The unit is flying off to Iceland next week for a 12-day long schedule,“ a source close to the develop ment told Mirror.
King Khan's first and last choice for the song was Farah Khan, who has choreographed the reel-jodi in many hit numbers, including those from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhie Khushi... Kabhi Gham.“He told Farah that he wanted the sequence to be larger-than-life, bigger than her chore ography in Sooraj hua madham,“ the source adds.
“That song was shot against the backdrop of the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo. Due to lighting conditions, the crew shot only between 7 and 9am, every morning. The song took several days to film,“ the source reveals, adding that the unit plans to practice and film the routine in the few hours of daylight, this time around too.“Looks like lighting will be a tough task once again. But I guess, SRK and Kajol will have the ice melting by the end of the schedule,“ the source signs off.
SRK-Rohit Shetty-Mushtaq Sheikh have fun post Dilwale wrap up
The wrap up of 'Dilwale' saw a relaxed Shah Rukh Khan and director Rohit Shetty having fun at SJ Studios in Mumbai. Though the photographers present at the venue were not allowed to take any photographs of the two while they were shooting or post the wrap up, the shutterbugs did manage to capture the two leaving in their cars.
They were joined by film writer and author Mushtaq Sheikh who left with SRK in his car while Rohit drove his own SUV. The interesting little observation here is the number plate on the car Rohit was driving had 555 which everyone knows are the numbers preferred by King Khan for his vehicles...so did Shah Rukh gift Rohit this car?
If so, it would not be the first time the two have given each other such gifts. SRK has gifted Rohit a bike in the past with Rohit reciprocating the gesture with a bicycle he bought for Shah Rukh.
Terrific Trio: Farah Khan to choreograph Shah Rukh Khan- Kajol's love song from 'Dilwale'
She made Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol groove to Ruk Ja from DDLJ. She was the main driving force behind the much loved Sooraj hua Madhdham. And now, Farah Khan is back with her favourite on screen couple. The terrific team of three- Farah, Shah Rukh and Kajol are back with another song, this time for Dilwale.
Says a source, “Farah will be choreographing the love song from Rohit’s film. She flew to Iceland on Thursday night to shoot the song with SRK and Kajol.” The team has already wrapped their Bulgaria leg of shoots and was back to town. But now, the terrific trio will be heading to Iceland to finish the love track. Initially, Remo had told us that he will be choreographing the same. But things didn’t work out and Farah was roped in immediately. When contacted Farah told us, "Yes, I will be choreographing the love song with SRK and Kajol. Who else?"
